Jury selection in the civil lawsuit against Father Michael Kelly has been postponed until next week.
The jury selection process is scheduled to begin on Feb. 22, and it may be completed by Friday of next week, according to Kelly's attorney, Tom Beatty of Walnut Creek.
The calendar for the six-week trial hasn't been set, but Beatty anticipates opening arguments to begin Feb. 28 or 29.
Kelly, priest at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Lockeford, is contesting a lawsuit alleging that Kelly abused a boy in the 1980s. No criminal charges were filed.
