robert maurer: Right on! Freedom and liberty are only gained by the loss of blood and the lives of the few that sacrifice everything for the many, while liberty is lost by words, apathy, and ignorance. Our founding fathers saw democracy as a failure,(mob rule) thus a republic was born, republicanism meaning a form of government in which power resides in the people and is exercised by their elected representatives. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisable with liberty and justice for all. Francis Bellamy,1892

robert maurer: More facts 1) Cities that have the most restrictive gun laws (Chicago,New York) have the highest homicide rates in the US. 2) Cities with the least restrictive gun laws have the lowest homicide rates. 3) Criminals will always choose the easiest target, especially crimes of opportunity. 4)Nobody in their right mind wants to mess with an armed or potentially armed citizen. Why would one knowingly or not knowingly choose to make oneself a target? An armed government without an armed citizenry is not a free society.

robert maurer: What a joke!! " ...in the hopes of reducing gang related crime in Lodi." An opportunity for people to get rid of unwanted firearms. The program can make guns less available to criminals who burglarize homes and steal firearms not properly locked up.I would like to see proof that each gun is destroyed and not pilfered by police for their own use or private collection. [lol][lol][beam] Here's a novel idea: lock up the criminals and don't let them out early for "good behavior" (again,an insane joke: if the person is in jail, then he or she was not,is not demonstrating good behavior)or because of overcrowding.
