The cost to run Galt has gone up steadily in recent years.

Last night, the cost to live there went up, too.

600 signatures! wow! obviously no one on the city council gave a darn about any of these 600 people before taking steps to increase our rates and pay for other capital projects. Why don't you consider budget cuts in the top officials salaries to help offset these increases instead of giving them pay raises. shame on you! we will remember you come election day.

Have to agree with you, T&C. It does seem a bit "convenient"...wonder what's next. Last night, saw that the city of Vallejo is considering declaring bankruptcy.

Can't help but notice how this trend of spend, spend, spend and let the taxpayers pick up the bill or suffer with absolutely NO accountability by the so-called leaders began with BushCo....Actually the senior BuSh and his son, Neil, with the S&L loan scandals. Seems Reagonics DOES work in a screwy kind of way...be a scantless SOB, rob the taxpayer, don't be accountable, etc., etc. HAS "trickled down" to local governments.

HMMM! Cities Top officials get a "Pay Raise" and the common folks get stuck in the butt with a utility rate hike! Does anyone else see a connection here?
