Artists from local areas as well as other towns and cities of Northern California arrived at Vino Piazza in Lockeford on Saturday, but sipping a local wines was not the goal of their visit.
The artists were submitting all genres of art to the staff of the Lodi Community Art Center for the upcoming 44th Spring Art Annual.
The event will be held at the Robert Mondavi Woodbridge Winery in Acampo from noon to 5 p.m. March 20 and 21.
The event features a juried fine art show as well as a wine tasting. But the real treat for attendees is the art itself, as the event will showcase some of the most talented artists in Northern California.
Serious buyers can also get first choice from the choice works of art, said Patti Wallace, president of the Lodi Community Art Center.
"There will be a preview of the art at the Robert Mondavi Woodbridge Winery for pledge purchasers," she said.
To get in on the preview, prospective buyers must call show chairwoman Caroline Henry at (209) 931-0682, or e-mail her at email@example.com.
Event judges will be artists Rowland Cheyney, Gil Dellinger and Linda Kasser.
