Two Lodi girls are planning to hold a garage sale fundraiser Saturday to help local families adopt children from China. The sale is set for 7 a.m. at 12 Elderica Way in Lodi.

Katie Petersen and Abby Pamquist, both 11 and sixth-graders, attended an event titled "Join the Journey" at First Baptist Church in Lodi. The event was hosted by three local families in the process of adopting children from China.

Katie and Abby decided to help out, and have been gathering items from friends and family since then. Katie attends Reese Elementary School and Abby attends Vinewood Elementary School.

What's wrong with adopting the many children here in the US who need homes?

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
