Thor is an approximately 1-1/2-year-old German shepherd. He was rescued with a female German shepherd named Gretchen. Thor is neutered. His vaccinations will be current and he will have a microchip before going to his new forever home.
Thor is friendly, affectionate, loving and happy. He has a pre drive, so he should not be around cats and probably small dogs. He is not aggressive toward humans. Thor enjoys ball-fetching and would be a great dog for many canine sports — agility, rally, tracking and herding.
Thor seems house-rained, since he is very clean in his kennel. He gets along with Gretchen and would be fine living with a female dog, but a male would depend entirely on the other dog and the owner’s ability as a pack leader. Avoiding another male would probably be best.
He is good on a leash and knows the commands “sit” and “down.” He is an active dog so an active family who would take him along with them would be a good fit for him. He will be a great companion.
Thor and Gretchen are doing exceptionally well in obedience class and neither shows any aggression towards any of the other dogs of any size, sex or temperament. Both respond easily to all training and love the attention. They do not need a home together.
Thor is being offered for adoption through Animal Friends Connection, a Lodi nonprofit organization dedicated to helping companion animals since 1990. For more information about Thor, call or 209-365-0535.
