A man arrested on suspicion of selling narcotics also had a loaded handgun in his car, according to Lodi police.

Robert Wiles of Lodi was driving his Honda Civic on Saturday when he was stopped for a moving violation at the intersection of Kettleman Lane and Hutchins Street, Lt. Bill Alexander said.

According to Alexander, the officer determined Wiles, 36, had an outstanding warrant, and searched his car.

The search turned up more than half an ounce of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun, Alexander said. Wiles was arrested on charges of narcotics sales and transportation, possession of a stolen firearm and being an ex-felon in possession of a loaded firearm.

Nice to hear from you, Richard! The gun problem will never go away as long as they're as easy to get as they are today and the careless owners that are easy prey that leave firearms in many common hiding areas for burglars or auto prowlers to easily take and sell anywhere, no questions asked. Responsible firearms owners are the only answer to gun safety and control. As a North Dakota youngster, age five, my cousins and family were taught the safe use of firearms, ours for hunting for meat for our dinner table, mainly deer, rabbit and pheasants. We were taught to never point a firearm at anyone or anything unless you were going to pull the trigger. Happy new year to you and your family! Be safe.

Karma always comes back to get you !!! This bum and Gary Howard broke into my apartment and assaulted me and my wife in the middle of the night ...almost 17 years ago !!! It has nothing to do with gun control ...this guy didn't acquire his gun legally !!! I have the right to bare arms and will do so in a safe and appropriate manner !!! Don't punish me ....punish the criminals !!!

Ms. Parigoris, the sky is falling again? Those who constantly insttill fear in others are part of the problem.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
