After evading police capture for nearly a month, San Jaoquin County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jeffery McInturff on Saturday in Acampo.

McInturff, 25, was arrested around noon in the 18000 block of North Highway 99 Frontage Road, according to a statement released by Les Garcia, spokesman for the Sheriff's Department.

The statement said McInturff has fled from law enforcement on at least two previous occasions and managed to make his way through perimeters set by law enforcement in the unincorporated areas of the county.

After being tipped that McInturff was in the area, Sheriff's deputies moved in and located McInturff working on a reported stolen vehicle out of the Linden area, the statement said.

According to the statement, when McInturff spotted the deputies, he attempted to flee on foot with deputies giving chase with a Sheriff's canine.

After a short foot chase, McInturff was taken into custody by deputies with the aid of the Sheriff's canine, the statement said.

McInturff has been named by the Lodi Police Department as the suspect wanted in connection with two armed robberies that occurred in September.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday in Lodi.
