City of Lodi didn’t prove legal standing for gag order in police shooting, Allison Claire says

A federal magistrate judge appears poised to allow the news media and the public to see autopsy reports, photographs and other information related to the fatal police shooting of Army veteran Parminder Singh Shergill in Lodi earlier this year.

During a hearing Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Sacramento, Judge Allison Claire said the city of Lodi failed to prove that it had legal standing for its proposed protective order, which would have kept under wraps virtually all materials related to the controversial shooting.
