Lodi fire investigators continued their investigation Monday into a fire that killed a small dog and destroyed a mobile home on Cherokee Lane.
The fire Sunday at 324 N. Cherokee Lane, just north of Lockeford Street, destroyed the mobile home and killed a small dog who was trapped in the residence.
Resident Jacki Garafolo wasn’t home when the fire began.
A neighbor offered to bury the dog, Feather, in the neighbor’s yard Sunday night, according to Lodi Fire Battalion Chief Gene Stoddart. Firefighters dug a hole in the yard, and Garafolo buried the dog herself.
