State Sen. Tom Berryhill, R-Oakdale, joined three other legislators in urging Gov. Jerry Brown to call a special legislative session to address Brown’s pension reform plan.

“We applaud the governor for his 12-point plan,” said Berryhill, whose district includes the Lodi area. “His plan is a very good first step. It is imperative that this issue be dealt with immediately.”

Berryhill will represent the Lodi area through 2012, but he will be in another district after the 2012 election. His brother, Assemblyman Bill Berryhill, R-Ceres, is running for the 5th State Senate seat next year. The State Senate seat will include Lodi and Galt.
