Mike Adams: Kimberly Pinto was a good officer. Her loss will be felt by the entire district. She made a tragic mistake that could have cost the lives of others.
Defensive driving is part of every POST academy. As described in the story, speeding and aggressive driving cost her her life. If she had been in a police car, with lights and siren, the other drivers would have reacted like they were trained, pulling to the right lane. For other drivers, a private vehicle driving erratically, puts them in a dangerous situation. The second driver appears to have been courteous, moving over.
This should be a lesson. Getting anywhere by speeding or aggressive driving, for any reason, is dangerous for the driver and others on the road.Getting there in one piece is a better outcome than getting an unexpected trip to the morgue.
