All of the voters in the city of Galt received incomplete sample ballots for the Nov. 6 General Election and will receive new ones.

The 9,753 booklets that went out to Galt residents were missing candidate statements from the Galt City Council candidates, according to the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters. Everything else in the booklet was complete.

The revised booklet will be available in the Galt City Clerk’s office on Thursday and all of Galt’s voters will receive a new ballot with the candidate statements early next week, registrar spokesman Brad Buyse said. It is also currently available at www.elections.saccounty.net.

Curt Campion, Michael Hodge, Mike McCune and Kelly Keagy and current Mayor Barbara Payne are running for the two available seats on the Galt City Council.

The last day to register to vote is Oct. 22. The last day to register to vote by mail is Oct. 30. For more information, visit the registrar online at www.elections.saccounty.net or call 916-875-6451.

Mike: I've fixed the error. Thanks for pointing it out.

I wanted to bring to your attention an error in this article. Mayor Barbara Payne is running for re-election and based on her performance deserves to be re-elected. However, there are two seats up for election - Barbara Payne's position and the position vacated by Randy Shelton. This may be a finite distinction but an important one. This will be a very competitive race and all of the candidates including Mayor Payne have something to offer the city of Galt.
