Graduation ceremonies on the horizon for local schools

In case you missed the Hallmark card displays, graduation season is upon us. Here is a glance at local ceremonies:

Liberty High School

10 a.m., Thursday at Hutchins Street Square, 125 N. Hutchins St., Lodi.

Independence High School

1 p.m. Thursday at the McNair High School theater, 9550 Ronald E. McNair Way, Stockton.

Lodi High School

7 p.m., Thursday at the Grape Bowl Stadium, 221 Lawrence Ave., Lodi.

Middle College High School

5 p.m., May 25 at Delta College's Atherton Auditorium, 5151 Pacific Ave., Stockton.

Tokay High School

7 p.m., May 25 at the Grape Bowl Stadium, 221 Lawrence Ave., Lodi.

Jim Elliot Christian High School

3 p.m., May 26 at Temple Baptist Church, 801 Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi.

Lodi Academy

10 a.m., May 27 in the school gym, 1230 S. Central Ave., Lodi.

Estrellita High School

6 p.m., May 30 in campus courtyard, 12935 Marengo Road, Galt.

Galt High School

7:30 p.m., May 31 at Warrior Stadium, 145 N. Lincoln Way, Galt.

Liberty Ranch High School

7 p.m., Memorial Auditorium, 1515 J St., Sacramento. (Bus service will be provided for friends and family.)

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
