Police on Monday continued to investigate separate accidents on the same night that took the lives to two Lodi men.
The first accident happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday. Police say a motorcyclist died after colliding with a pickup truck while driving north along Ham Lane near Vine Street.
The victim, Carl Faccini of Lodi, 33, was transported to Lodi Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Lodi Police Lt. Sierra Brucia. The driver of the truck was not injured.
No arrests were made, and police are still trying to determine whether alcohol was involved.
While police were on scene investigating the accident at Vine and Ham, a passing driver collided with an unoccupied patrol car, causing minor damage, according to Lodi police. The driver, 85-year-old Edwin Hied, allegedly fled the scene but was quickly pulled over and arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit and run.
Later that night, police received a call regarding an argument on the 600 block of West Turner Road. A man left the house in a pickup truck, and while police were en route, they received another call about a pickup that had crashed at the intersection of Ham Lane and Turner Road.
Officers discovered that the driver, who left the earlier argument, collided with an electric utility box around 11:30 p.m.
Daniel Yoder of Lodi, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lodi police are still waiting to receive toxicology reports.
