Joanne Mounce, Lodi City Council member

“They’re a community eye when it comes to the (Lodi Animal) Shelter and ideas. The people who work on it bring fresh ideas. They’ve served the council well and I think they will continue to do so.”

Bob Johnson, Lodi City Councilman

“There’s a continual inability to fill the seats on that commission. I think the city clerk had posted vacancies for the fourth or fifth position for months, and got no response.”

Some members of the Lodi City Council believe the city’s Animal Advisory Commission has run its course.

The council voted 3-2 at its Wednesday night meeting to disband the commission, citing a lack of quorum and interest in joining the five-member board.
