The Lodi Police Department recently purchased 45 new Tasers, and plans to purchase body cameras for all uniformed officers before next year, Lodi Police Chief Mark Helms said.
Agencies across the nation are beginning to turn to body cameras — especially in light of recent incidents such as the officer-involved shooting of a teen in Ferguson, Mo. — but Lodi has been in planning to purchase body cameras for several months now, Helms said.
