A Lodi massage business is facing a three-month closure due to city ordinance violations, the first such punishment since laws were toughened for those businesses.

Unless the owner files a notice of appeal, Royal Day Spa will close Dec. 20 and will not be allowed to reopen until March 19, city officials said Wednesday.

I would "Appeal" the decision immediately with the City Clerk's office. Unless you have some other source of income. I'd then meet with the City Manager and City Attorney and let them know that you are aware of the problem and that you have corrected it immediately. If anything, you should have been fined $150 dollars for each violation and put on probation for 90 days. If any additional violations then your business should be closed for 3 days. Depending on the volume of business that you are doing, closing your business for 90 days is like taking $10,000 dollars away from you and that is just ludicrious. I suspect the Lodi Police dept. is just wanting a kick-back so you can stay open and that's why they are playing hardball. Have they investigated all the other massage businesses in town......I doubt it very seriously. Maybe someone should set-up a sting, like they did with the governor in Illinois, and lets see who is dirty in town. Makes you think, huh?

T&C/Edumaction, yes you can get your Fabric in Lodi still, until they build the super wal mart, since the fabric dept is NOT part of the super walmart layout once it comes to Lodi you WIll have to drive to stockton to get your sewing fix.

T & C: wrong post: This post is about the "shady lady" massage parlor. The alleged violation was 11 months ago. Either the LPD wanted to wait so all the officers could get their massages before Christmas, or they are using a pencil and a calendar instead of a ticket book. Its probably a little of both reasons?BTW: Their are no fabric stores in Lodi. If its late, and I need some sewing materials, I know that Walmart has them. I don't care about the price. I had a friend who was robbed at gunpoint in a Stockton mall. It took police an hour to respond becasue a mere robber with a gun was a lower priority than other crimes such as gang fights and rapes which are POPULAR Stockton activities. I could walk into regular Lodi Walmart buy my materials and leave in less than 15 minutes. It would have taken me at least that long to drive to Stockton, and I would have had to worry about having my parked car stolen, being robbed or raped. Look at the FBI crime stats. STOCKTON IS BAD!

edumacation, Lodi is NOT STOCKTON! Read the Stockton Record, and read all the crime articles EVERY DAY! Lodi doesn't have those same crimes or ANYWHERE the magnitude! I just love Wal-Mart haters...who "Stoop to FEAR TACTICS" in desperation! Bottom line, if you don't like Wal-Mart, don't shop there! Competition makes prices of All Grocery stores lower, and "We the people" Save money regardless of the store we choose to shop at!"

LNS: "On Jan. 18, officers found that the business did not have the operator's permit posted. Then on March 9 two employees were cited for working without city-required permits, Chaban said." Is this news? What year? Why did it take so long?LNS: "We want to send the message that we will take enforcement action and we will not hesitate to get involved," Chaban said." What kind of message is this, wait from January 18, 2008 until December 2008? The LPD officers need to get out from all of the desks at the police building and start fighting crime with a presence not with a pencil and a calendar. LOL If Super Walmart moves in, our officers better be prepared for it. I can predict we will have to put in a Super Walmart police substation just for the PC 459's! OOps, I am sorry, those new Wally customers call it "The WALLMARK".
