Although he admits he doesn’t know whether he will represent the Lodi area in Congress once the final votes are counted, Republican David Harmer, of San Ramon, is attending the orientation for new members of Congress this week anyway.
“I’m participating with a unique blend of apprehension and hope,” Harmer said in an e-mail to supporters and the media.
In his e-mail, Harmer again asked for financial contributions.
“To ensure an accurate count of the remaining ballots, to prepare for a possible recount and to do our best to complete the campaign successfully, we need to raise much more money,” Harmer said.
Harmer is trailing Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, by 1,778 votes, as of Monday at 3:42 p.m., according to the California Secretary of State office.
