The issues were many, but money seemed to be the major stumbling block to solving concerns expressed by the Woodbridge Municipal Advisory Council.

The Woodbridge, Thornton and Morada MACs are working together with the goal to acquire a sheriff's substation to gain a greater law enforcement presence in their communities, but San Joaquin County officials said Thursday there isn't enough money to construct a substation, according to Woodbridge MAC member Ron Rader.

Woodbridge residents, concerned for years about crime in their community, noted that graffiti was painted in the Del Rio neighborhood off Woodbridge Road this week. The sheriff's substation issue will be revisited when new county Supervisor Ken Vogel and Sheriff Steve Moore conduct a town-hall meeting in Woodbridge later this year.

The MAC also discussed what it considered an increasing parking problem in Woodbridge's business district along Lower Sacramento Road. The council didn't offer any recommendations to the county on how to increase parking. Instead, a representative from the county's Community Development Department will discuss its regulations regarding off-street parking at a future MAC meeting, Rader said.
