Tired of looking at the leaves on your lawn? Starting Monday, you will be able to rake them into the street for the city of Lodi's annual leaf-removal program.
The city is divided into 10 districts for leaf pickup, and it takes about 10 working days to complete a cycle.
Below are some recommendations from city staff for residents as piling leaves into the street:
- Don't park on the street until leaves have been picked up and collection crews have finished. The sweepers start at 4 a.m. and collection crews come through at 6:30 a.m.
- Rake leaves beyond the toe of the gutter. Do not pile leaves on top of rain gutters, because storm water needs to continue flowing.
- Do not include prunings, lawn clippings, flowers or plastic bags.
Residents are allowed up to three yard and garden waste cans for free. If you need additional cans, contact Central Valley Waste Services at 209-369-8274.
