A gunman shot two people at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday on the 700 block of South Cherokee Lane in Lodi. According to a Lodi police report, the shooting was a “gang-related dispute.”
The report described the incident this way: “One subject produced a handgun and fired at four victims in a vehicle leaving the Star Market.”
Two people in the car were struck by bullets. Olga Moreno, 51, was hit in the back of the head. George Diaz, 33, was hit in the back. Neither wound was life- threatening, according to the report.
Police had not released a description of the suspect on Friday evening, and no further information about the incident was available at that time. An investigation by detectives was underway.
The incident was reported to police on Thursday by Lodi Memorial Hospital. A supervisor at the hospital said no patients with gunshot wounds were being treated Friday morning, implying that the victims had been released.
