Galt City Council approves utility rate increases

Residents will be paying an additional $2.61 a month for water, sewer, storm drainage and garbage service in Galt beginning this spring.

On Tuesday, the Galt City Council also:

Approved paying two outside firms roughly $1 million for construction management services related to the Twin Cities Roundabouts project.

Adopted a resolution continuing the resident nonprofit organization rental fee waiver and special provisions for Chabolla and Litttleton community centers rentals, but reduced the number of free annual uses from two to one. Due to restrictions for private organizations, the city has lost revenue as nonprofits have booked up Saturdays.

Voted to pen a letter of support to the state for an alternative concept to the Bay Delta Conservation Plan.

Received a Capital Improvement Program status update.

Made appointments to various city committees, commissions, outside agencies and regional boards.
