Don Womble inducted into Lodi Community Hall of Fame for contributions to education

Don Womble has been posthumously nominated for the Lodi Community Hall of Fame for his contributions to education.

Known to many as an icon in the history of Lodi High School sports, Don Womble served as a teacher, coach and mentor to countless students over six decades. For his contributions to education, Womble, who passed away in 2010, was inducted into the Lodi Community Hall of Fame.

David Phillips, a former cross country and track student of Womble’s who made the nomination, said Womble was the kind of coach who inspired kids.
