World Cup soccer fever hits Lodi

For the past eight years, the U.S. national soccer team and their fans felt the sting of defeat after Ghana kicked them out of the World Cup twice in a row. On Monday afternoon, a grudge match game brought Lodi out to cheer for the U.S. team’s triumph.

This year soccer fans — or just people with a sense of national pride — are watching the World Cup in sports bars and in homes to see the United States and favorite teams from other countries compete to win against the world’s best soccer teams.
