In an effort to aid veterans and promote their successful transition to civilian life, the San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services will sponsor a Veterans Screening and Referral event this morning from 7 to 11 a.m. at San Joaquin Delta College’s Mustang Room, located in Danner Hall.

The event, which is being co-sponsored by the San Joaquin County Veterans Services Office, Delta College’s Troops to College and Veterans Resource Center, the University of the Pacific and Congressman Jerry McNerney, will include information about educational programs, financial aid opportunities, Employment Development Department programs for veterans and VA benefits applications. It will also have information about mental health programs and services like screening for depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety.

Free parking for today’s event will be available in Delta’s Shima 1 lot.

For more information on the Veterans Screening and Referral event, please contact Becky S. Gould, deputy director, San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services. She can be reached at 468-8859 and bgould@sjcbhs.org.
