The first morgue in Lodi's history opened this year, deep in the bowels of Lodi Memorial Hospital.

Lodi Memorial has never had a morgue, which may not seem like a major issue: After all, the county coroner conducts all autopsies for suspicious deaths, leaving only a handful for the hospital to do.

Yeah, and how much did this new morgue cost the taxpayers? Funny how that didn't make print. I'm thinking they could have feed and housed many homeless people for the money they probably spent on this new morgue.

This morgue wasnt needed but like the artilce says it makes the pathologists job "easier".

We're all for easier, even if many people will go hungry and sleep outside. But what the heck after this pathologistes job is finished for the day she can go to the store and buy some groceries go home and feed her family! Not that's a fair trade off...
