A public meeting on an analysis of rural fire districts in San Joaquin County will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mokelumne fire station, 13157 E. Brandt Road, Lockeford.

The meeting, conducted by the county’s Local Agency Formation Commission, will cover several rural districts in the Lodi area, including the Woodbridge, Thornton, Liberty, Mokelumne, Clements and Waterloo-Morada districts.

LAFCO’s draft report issues analyses of each district’s budget and level of service. It also recommends some consolidations and fire station relocation to improve service. Similar meetings will be held on Oct. 27 in Linden and Nov. 15 in Ripon.

For more information, call LAFCO at 468-3198. To see the full report, visit www.sjgov.org/lafco and click on “Preliminary draft of municipal service review for the rural fire protection districts of San Joaquin County.”
