Larry Johnson: Another reason to not go to Lakewood Mall, and foisted by a Stockton's backyard gym, too .[sad]

Kim A: Does Lodi really need another Gym? Apple Market is a great Mom and Pop store and I'm sad to hear it is leaving. But replace this great store with another gym? If it needs to be replaced why not with a Trader Joe's? That makes more sense then another gym facility.

John Kindseth: If this club is added wont that make 3 fitness centers on the east, west and center of the Lockeford street area ?? I hope their marketing people drove around a little.

Darrell Baumbach: I love shopping at apples as Gale says, it is a mom and pop type store. It is large enough to have a very good selection of products. Prices are competitive. I rarely have to wait in line. The checkout clerks are slower as the take the time to talk a bit with their customers.
I cannot think of another store in Lodi or Stockton that has the same qualities.

stormy10000: [sad]Apple Market is not a dump of a grocery store! It's the last of the "Mom & Pop" type stores left. I feared they would close after Centro-Mart did. I dread having to dodge all those " healthy" folks who will take up all the parking places in the Lakewood center. I appreciate all the clerks & meat-cutters & deli & bakery folks who have worked there. Thank You to all of you. I wish you all well and will miss you. Now I "get" to shop at major chains! Woopie! In response to Rick's comment about the speed of the checkers at Apple being the slowest I am curious if he ever goes to Raley's? I have worked for Raley's in the past & part of their motto is service, service, service, however in Lodi Raley's the checkers think service, service, service involves long drawn out conversations with customers...... Duh.Again I will miss Apple Market. Sorry to see you go. You will be missed !stormy10000

Jackson Scott: no, that place never got even had TI's in the space. That location, the old blockbuster space, is where InShape will have their sales office.

Jackson Scott: Doug brings up a good point about parking. HOPEFULLY the design of the PROPOSED facility will set the main entrance (only except for emergency exits) at the WEST side of the space, towards the NW corner. This will encourage patrons to park on the west side of the building. If the parking becomes an issue for House of Coffees they will see a decline in customers who want to run if and get a cup to go due to bad parking. And I know Doug is a frequent visitor to HOC.
And I have no idea why some of you are upset Apple is leaving. It's inventory is limited, customer service is horrible, and they fired all of the Lodi resident workers when they had to absorb the workers (family) from the closed Centro Markets in Stkn.

Rick Houdack: I hate to see the loss of a store only because there is currently no alternative but, honestly, Apple Market is a poorly run dump of a store with the slowest checkers in the city of Lodi. Someone will fill the vacuum Apple leaves and, if they are worthy, they will thrive. But the loss of Apple is, by itself, no loss at all. Good luck to the gym.

advocate: I'm speculating there will be a problem with parking, with their customers utilizing the closer spaces to this "gym" and discouraging those who use Lakewood mall from having to park either behind the facility or farther down the mall by the dollar store. Other than the possibility of a parking problem, I see this facility bringing more foot traffic and would be shoppers to the mall.

Kevin Paglia: Isn't there a new "Anytime fitness" across the street now as well?

Josh Morgan: I'm just sick to hear about Apple Market closing. [sad]

Elise Middlecamp: That is pretty close to Fitness Works who has a dedicated customer base, a tanning salon that people go to after (or before) a workout, and a smoothie shop all within walking distance.
The Apple location has Subway across the street, two coffee shops close by, and Max Muscle around the corner which also has some tanning equipment. The competition is there, I hope they can bring enough business to stay open.

Darrell Baumbach: So sad. I will miss Apples much. Too bad the Gym could not take over the Dollar store and leave Apples open so after exercise, have a friendly quality place to get fresh vegi's and food after a coffee at the local coffee shop.

Signing in from multiple locations may be the cause.
