Mayor JoAnne Mounce and former Mayor Bob Johnson have pulled nomination papers for re-election to the Lodi City Council, but neither had filed, City Clerk Randi Johl.

However in Galt, five people have pulled papers for City Council. They are incumbent Barbara Payne, former Councilman Randy Shelton and challengers Rodney Stanhope, Frederick Goethel and Richard Salton.

Patton1....I think we both know t&c, edumacation, papercut or what ever name he/she is using today, can't and won't answer your challenge. He calls the council members the 3 ayemeegos because he has noting important to say. All he does is make incredibly stupid comments/threats. This type of person is more commonly known as a whiner and loser.

I would like to know how the council benefited financially when they approved FCB and Reynolds Ranch. If he can not do so, his comments should be removed.

T&C/oth, come on, get off your behinds and pick up some papers from the Reg's office and run. Both of you always have a ton of gripes, and answers. Get active, stand up for what you believe, and then maybe you can start you own club.

And then the three ayemeegos rejected Ms. Lea for the finance committee and appointed their own gob realtor buddy instead. We citizens need to retake Lodi one councilperson at a time. We can start by replacing Johnson in November! Go Lodi First & Calaware.

OTH, it scares me to know that the three ayemeegos have the vote to pass any legislation that they want in Lodi. Who were the puppets that voted yes on the 3 new developments with their financial interests in mind? Who in their right minds would approve parks in these new developments without public bathrooms because they really aren't parks but drainage ponds for winter rain periods and flood purposes? And give them their infrastructure and roads and maintenance free? Only the three ayemeegos.

I would loe to see Jane Lea run for council and win. The looks on the faces of the 3 blind mice would be priceless. But who would want to indure the smear campaign that would be put up?

patton1..I hope Delta honor's their commitment to locate a campus on Victor Road. Our community has everything to gain and nothing to lose. To chase an educator out of town is inexcusable.

There is I am sure, a whole group of people trying to come up with a way to keep Delta interested in Lodi.Is that a worthy cause? When they come up with an idea, guess which group of people will complain and suggest malfeasence. You guessed it, the vocal minority that never contribute to our city other than complaining.

T&C wasnt very popular in high school and has never gotten over it. Sitting home having retired early on a disability pension doesnt do much to improve a persons self esteem apparently.

So little happens in Lodi, I dont see how anybody can get unjustly enriched. If there is a GOB network in Lodi they sure have been doing a lousy job. No Delta College, no WalMart and no action of any kind. Perhaps the vocal minority should be looking over the shoulder of other communities that are actually on the move!

That pretty well sums up Lodi in a nutshell. Patton1, if you are who we think you are, you could fit into the WASP category.

Perceptions of religious and racial prejudice also endure, and the good ol' boy network is sometimes seen as unique to WASPs (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants), with Catholics, Jews, and minority groups excluded. The network also functions like any other social network inasmuch as governmental, business, and professional connections and concessions often develop via mutual friendships and introductions established through the network

The good ol' boy network describes a system of social networking and perceptions alleged to exist prevalently among certain communities and social strata in the United States. Although the term originated in the South, these networks can be found throughout the U.S. and the rest of the Western world. It is typically taken to refer to informal legal, judicial, social, religious, business, and political associations among white males ("good ol' boys"); however, in modern times can be composed of either or both sexes. In some areas, the good ol' boy network is said to still exert considerable influence over many aspects of local government, business, and law enforcement. Usage of the term can often imply a wrongful exclusion of others from the network; however, often the emphasis is on inclusion of a member, as in, "doing a good ol' boy a favor".Some negative effects of the good ol' boy network are its exclusion of others, leading to leaders of a community possibly limiting business transactions to other elites, or to friends or acquaintances from within the network, to give friends better deals, and generally to reinforce traditional power structures over any other elements in the society.

I guess ones stand on this depends on whether he/she has benefited or got burned from a GOB.

Your kidding right? Jane Lea? Yeah, thats just what we need, an activist on the council. Didnt she run last time and get trounced. The east side must have somebody better to offer up. By the way, what has Mounce done for the east side in her term besided oppose the RDA which is the only thing that could truly help.

I believe that if the eastside of Lodi could come up with a viable candidate that's a long time Lodian, they would trounce the New York transplant, Bob Johnson, in a landslide. Please, Jane Lea, step up!
