Coed teams of four will participate in obstacle courses and other events at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Larry Canfield Memorial Games at the Herald Barn on Ivie Road.

Participants will ride a tricycle while their partner on the back of the tricycle shoots an air-soft gun at targets. They will also push a car forward and backward through a serpentine course and dress a dummy while handcuffed together.

The fourth annual Canfield Games are being held in memory of Larry Canfield, a sheriff’s motorcycle officer in Rancho Cordova who was killed in the line of duty on Nov. 12, 2008. Canfield grew up in Herald and attended Galt schools, where he participated in sports and Future Farmers of America.

Proceeds will go toward the Canfield Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will award a scholarship to a graduating senior participating in the FFA at Galt and Liberty Ranch high schools.

Teams that have not already signed up may do so at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Herald Barn. For more information, call Tammi Balukoff at 209-327-0516.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
