Two seats on both the Galt and Lodi city councils are up for election in November, along with several seats on local school boards, rural fire districts, water districts and municipal advisory councils.

The filing period opened Monday and extends to Aug. 8. In any office in which the incumbent doesn't run, the filing period will be extended an additional five calendar days.

The cc can not be a lobbyist group for just businesses, corporations, developers, globalist elites, etc. that is what the Chamber of Commerce is for. And since the CoC is pushing their trip to Communist, oh yeah they forgot that word, China, we will see more of a push for cheap, slave made Chinese products.

T & C-- nice post. I too have said many times to the blogger with many names to stop complaining, run for office, and make positive change for our fair city.Observer makes a great point, encourage smart business people to run for office. Observer, I do agree with your statement, although those are years ago and not like these councils since the mid 90's that have put Lodi slowly into debt. With the exception of Mr. Katzakian and Mayor Mounce, the three other council persons have already spent us $250 million into debt. I do, however, notice their personal finances are always growing every day while they spend Lodi into oblivion. Council members are chosen and appointed by the great wealthy Anglo gob's in this town whether you want to admit it or not.

I have watched council members come and go for many, many years. Lodi has been blessed over the years to have very good individuals hold and run for office. I believe it's what has set us apart from adjoining cities. Of course my preference has always been independent business persons but we have had many others who have been excellent leaders. My hope is that the quality of those running for office in the future continues. Many people I talk to that would be good future council members respond by saying, "it isn't worth the headache". Let's all help by encouraging good people to run. It's a benefit to all of us regardless of political persuasion.

You left one name out of your senseless blog, T & C. The real and original T&C. And as for Mr. Bob Johnson, I think Ms. Jane Lea or a candidate from the eastside will handily defeat him in November. I've got may allotment of $99 contribution checks ready to contribute to that candidate.

Please correct me I am wrong, but, didn't Johnson lose three time before he was elected to Lodi council?

Alright T&C, Tc, papercut, edumacation and all the aka's you use! HERE IS THE CHANCE You've been whining about how corrupt the city council is! Run for office and clean up the city council "GOBS"! You sound so sincere, "snicker" about all this conspiracy, you can get one of those seats! I've confidence in your experience in EVERYTHING you have complained of! Make a difference in LODI! Don't complain, Make the difference in your life, Lodi's Future, and "Banish those "GOBS" forever from the city limits of Lodi! Vote YES for papercut, edumacation, Tc, T&c!
