A 22-year-old man from Oakley was killed after his pickup truck collided with a semi-truck on Highway 12 on Thursday.
The head-on crash resulted in Highway 12 being closed for seven hours, until about 1 p.m. Thursday.
Around 6 a.m., the 2012 Ford F-550 driver was heading east on Highway 12 just east of Peatland Road, which is between Terminous and Lodi.
For unknown reasons, the driver crossed the center divide into the path of a semi-truck that a 44-year-old Lodi resident was driving in the westbound lane, according to a CHP news release.
The California Highway Patrol has not yet released the name of the 22-year-old driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Lodi resident Tersem Singh, 44, was driving the semi-truck and suffered minor injuries. He received treatment at Lodi Memorial Hospital.
Highway 12 was closed from Interstate 5 from Highway 160, forcing drivers to find alternate routes. CHP is still investigating the accident and has not yet determined if drugs or alcohol was involved, according to the news release.
