Opponents of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan launched a campaign against the proposed water export tunnels on Monday, the same day the plan’s environmental impact report was released and slightly ahead of the start of a four-month long public comment period on the EIR.

Californians for a Fair Water Policy, a statewide coalition opposing the governor’s plan, said the tunnels have many “fatal flaws,” would be too costly and do nothing to create regional self-reliance.

I went to the BDCP website to check and you are correct. They have a 50 year permit to spend 75 BILLION on this project. Outrageous.

CORRECTION: That's 25-75 BILLION dollars, folks....not million (!!!!) A billion is 1000 times more than a million! And 25-75 BILLION is what it would cost to new- build our ENTIRE fleet of nuclear aircraft carriers...and the airplanes aboard them!
The boondoggle new Bay Bridge cost about 6 billion...so this tunnel boondoggle would cost more than 4 to 11 of that amount. What a preposterous joke.
