Raley's is partnering with consumer products giant Unilever to provide $50,000 in grants to regional K-12 schools.

Through Aug. 20, Northern California/Nevada PTAs, booster clubs, parents and residents can nominate a school to receive a $10,000 grant at www.raleys.com/reach.

On Aug. 22, votes can be cast online for the nominated schools. Winners will be announced Sept. 5.

Schools with the most votes in each region will get $10,000 for "back-to-school" needs, ranging from computers in the classroom to playground equipment to art supplies.

Galt schools are part of the greater Sacramento region, one of five that will receive grants.

Raley's is headquartered in West Sacramento.
