Although Lodi Unified School District officials won’t know for another month how much revenue the district will receive from the state, the school board will conduct a public hearing tonight based on what trustees think they will have.
After the public hearing, trustees will adopt the budget, though Chief Business Officer Tim Hern expects changes to the budget when state funding is known.
The only reason the school board plans to adopt a budget tonight is because the San Joaquin County Office of Education requires it prior to July 1, Hern said. The budget will be changed when the state notifies school districts how much state funding they will receive, Hern said.
In other action tonight, Lodi Unified trustees will continue discussing their 10-year plan for the school curriculum and other projects.
Today’s board meeting, open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. at the James Areida Education Support Center, 1305 E. Vine St., Lodi.
