Two people were arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of burglarizing a tax and accounting business in Galt, police said.
Someone who heard a burglar alarm at Taxes and Accounting Exclusive, 810 C St., contacted Galt police, who responded with officers and a police dog, according to Galt police Sgt. Chris Smith. A window on the side of the business was broken, Smith said. They also took cash and office supplies, he added.
The police dog found the suspects, Edgar Fuentes, 26, of Galt, and a 17-year-old boy from Galt whose name was not disclosed because he is a juvenile. Both were arrested at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of burglary, and the teenager was also suspected of hiding in a nearby Dumpster and slamming the lid on the dog’s nose, causing a minor injury to the dog, Smith said.
Fuentes was booked in Sacramento County Jail in downtown Sacramento, and the teen was booked in Juvenile Hall, Smith said.
