At the Downtown Lodi Farmers Market tonight, the city of Lodi will be showing off a brand-new, 32-foot GrapeLine bus that will soon be picking up passengers around town.
The bus will be parked on Pine Street during the market. The city is also extending its hours for fixed bus routes, with the last one leaving the Lodi Transit Station at 8:30 p.m.
The city is phasing out its fleet of 40-foot buses and replacing them with 32-foot models. The city purchased six 32-foot buses using $473,000 in federal transportation bonds and state transit assistance funds, and they will go into circulation in early August.
