Officers of the Lodi Police Department made two arrests on Friday while conducting routine surveillance of a known drug house, say police.
Special investigations unit detectives checked out a residence on the 2100 block of Newbury Circle at 1:45 p.m. and found Sundeep Singh in front of the house. Singh had a $150,000 felony warrant out for his arrest, according to police. He was also in possession of stolen property, including a laptop taken from Jim Elliot High School on Dec. 18. He was arrested, the laptop recovered, and officers booked him into the Lodi jail.

Too bad the war on drugs (declared by Nixon) not only hasn't slowed or stopped the flow of drugs, but the DEA, and all law enforcement have been getting their collective arses kicked for decades!
They can't and don't even slow it down!
The cartels are more powerful than they have ever been! So what does this war on drugs do, it creates lucrative jobs for law enforcement and related fields and gets politicians elected to public office! And that is all it does!
Treatment is cheaper and they know it, but that isn't what the powers that be want or care about!

In the wild we always point out how predators are helpful to their prey, because it thins the herd of the weak etc etc,
Well if its good enough for Mother nature, its good enough for me. We make all drugs the same legality as beer. (except NO TV advertising). The price of legal drugs drops, those of our society that are inclined can buy and use them until they overdose and die. Just like nature
While they are USING their sex drive drops so little addicts are not spawned and then mistreated. While high, hard core addicts usually stay at home, regretting their life yet thinking about their next score.
O ya .. make drug use in jail an additional felony for both the user and the guard who provided. In that way 'Addicts' have a real reason to stay outta jail.
Feel free to add intelligent amendments or additions to help slow down the prison industry.

Legalize all drugs, now where would all the tweekers and hard core drug addits going to get money to BUY all those legal drugs? There are troubles enough, were as people that won`t work to buy legal drugs would rather break in or just plain rob a pot shop. If you read the papers, most people that are arrested are repeat preformers and will do anything to get that high.
Jacobs writes that no one cares about other people, thats not true, I`m having a dozen tweekers over for dinner tonight. But before then arrive, all things of valvue will be secured in a room under lock and key. Early American orange crate will have to do as far as table and chairs are concerned. Food will be supplyed by the closes dumpster and finish off a great dinner by getting loaded and busting up the furniture.
Then it`s back to the lock-up

When will people learn, arresting these people and filling up the Jails and our Prisons is accomplishing NOTHING. With the release of inmates in Jails and Prisons through out the nation because of over crowding you would think someone would figure it out? Actually many know exactly what they are doing...
This is job security for law enforcement and related fields nothing more! No one really wants to help these individuals stop using,(treatment is much cheaper than housing these individuals in Jails and Prisons) they want a job and the many perks and benefits that go with that job! This is what our society is made of, people who don't care about other people.
Legalize all drugs, tax them and be done with it! Crime would go down to almost nonexistent! It certainly wouldn't be worse than it is now! But then there are those great paying jobs that we wouldn't need anymore. About a third of the jobs wouldn't be needed anymore and most of those law enforcement and they aren't going to let them go without a fight...
