Officials have released the name of the Galt officer involved in last year's fatal shooting.
Meanwhile, the Sacramento County District Attorney is expected to release its full report on the incident as early as next week, according to Galt Police.
It is up to the DA's office and the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department to determine if the officer was in the wrong.
On June 3, Galt Police Officer Bruce Ramos shot 28-year-old Philip Oliver after he allegedly threatened to shoot officers who had responded to a 911 call that Oliver was assaulting his mother.
Ramos, who has been on the Galt police force for 12 years, fired his gun after he heard a loud bang in the house and thought he was being fired upon, police said at the time.
Oliver also threatened to kill the officers, according to Lt. James Uptegrove.
