The outstanding fourth suspect wanted in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy in Galt last weekend was arrested without incident following a Sacramento traffic stop Monday.
Hector Caballero, 18, of Galt, was wanted in connection with the killing of the teen, who was identified by the Sacramento County coroner as Ricardo Guerrero, also of Galt. It is the city’s second homicide this year.
Police still do not have a motive in the killing, according to a news release issued Monday afternoon.
Three other young males were arrested last Monday following the Nov. 24 shooting on the 400 block of 2nd Street.
The suspects, Hector Ojeda, 18, of Galt;DamienFlores,23,ofAcampo; and a 14-year-old, also of Galt, have been booked into Sacramento County jail on charges of homicide. The News-Sentinel is not naming the 14-year-old suspect because he is a minor.
The adults are scheduled to appear in court Friday. They are being held without bail in the Sacramento County Jail.
All of the suspects are documented gang members, Galt Police Lt. Brian Kalinowski said.
Police do not have any information about Guerrero, the victim. However, he is not known by police to have any gang associations, according to Kalinownski.
Police learned of the incident when a caller to 911 reported that several shots were fired in the area of 2nd and E streets around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 24.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Guerrero shot dead in front of a home. Police are not releasing the kind of weapon used.
During the investigation, witnesses told officers that three men were seen running from the area on foot after the shooting, according to police.
