Lilly is a 1-½-year-old Labrador and pit bull terrier mix. She was found running the streets with her puppy. Lilly has a lot of energy, loves people and likes to give kisses. She is receiving training to learn not to jump up, but it is hard for her to remember since she gets so excited when she sees someone. She is learning to “sit,” stay” and “lay down.”

Lilly is eager to please, is highly trainable and really needs a family with a yard to run in. So if you have it in your heart to give her a chance, please come and meet her.

Lilly is being offered for adoption through PALS, a Lodi-based nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in Lodi. For more information about Lilly, please call PALS at 209-224-0354 or e-mail pals.lodi@yahoo.com.

To see other cats and dogs available for adoption, visit the PALS Adoption Center at 1405 W. Kettleman Lane, Lodi; or visit www.palslodi.org and www.petfinder.com. Center hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Andy and Annie look to be Maltese, Poodle and terrier mixes, and are about 14 months old. They have current vaccinations, have been groomed, neutered and spayed and each has a microchip.

Andy and Annie were seen for a week before they were rescued. They are gentle, affectionate and playful, and want to be lap dogs. They get along great with other dogs and ride well in the car. Andy enjoys going for walks with the “Walk n Wag” walking group, and is good with small and large dogs. Andy and Annie seem house-trained and are using the potty pads at the sanctuary as well as going outside.

Andy and Annie are very bonded and the rescuer wants them adopted together. They are both loving, get along with kids and are just all around great little dogs. They will be great companions.

Andy and Annie are being offered for adoption through Animal Friends Connection, a Lodi nonprofit organization dedicated to helping companion animals since 1990. For more information about Andy and Annie, call or 209-365-0535.

To view other dogs and cats available for adoption, visit the sanctuary at 933 S. Cherokee Lane, Lodi, or visit www.animalfriendsconnect.org and www.facebook.com/animalfriendsconnection. Sanctuary hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekends.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
