In other action Tuesday, Lodi Unified trustees:
- Voted to provide 24 extra teachers to reduce class size for targeted elementary schools with a large number of students who need special help in language arts, math or both. The extra teachers will be placed to avoid having combination classes in first through fourth grades.
- Voted to establish a junior ROTC program at McNair High School in North Stockton. The program will be a Regional Occupational Program course for the 2014-15 school year. Lodi Unified School District trustees voted on Tuesday to start the program.
- Appointed Angela Le-Strange, an assistant principal at Lodi High School, to a new position as a vice principal at a school to be announced at a later date. The board also appointed Mark Dawson as principal of Plaza Robles, a continuation high school in North Stockton. Dawson was an assistant principal at McNair High School this year.

Lodi Unified School District trustees adopted a resolution on Tuesday that will change the voting procedure in future school board elections, and made slight changes to individual trustee area boundaries.
Pending approval by the San Joaquin County Board of Education, voters will cast ballots for only one seat on the seven-member Lodi Unified board starting in 2014. Voters will be able to cast their ballot only for people running within the same trustee area boundary as the voter.
