Lodi police responded to reports of gunshots on Wednesday night near the intersection of Tokay and Sacramento streets.
Officers discovered two cars, a black truck and gold sedan, unoccupied in the roadway at around 10:40 p.m., Lodi Police Sgt. Mike Oden said. One vehicle was laced with bullet holes, while the other contained ammunition casings, according to police.
Two men, who police believe were connected with the shooting, later returned to the scene, Oden said. Both men were uncooperative, Oden said.
Police arrested Salvador Velasquez, 29, on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Miguel Adrian, 21, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.
Velasquez is currently being held in Lodi Jail. In addition to allegedly possessing methamphetamine, Adrian is being held in San Joaquin County Jail on a warrant for possessing a controlled substance and a felony issued by the U.S. Boarder Patrol.
Police don’t have any reason to believe the incident was gang-related, Oden said.
While police don’t have much information about the shooting, they’re continuing to investigate the incident, Oden said.
