  You, Lodi News Sentinel, are the reason why there is no communication between the real hard working people, especially the predominantly Spanish speaking and other ethnic groups of the east side of Lodi, the seemingly "forgotten" land, and the wealthy, stuffed shirts, takers and good old boys clan in Lodi who are granted entitlements, government welfare and constant pandering from three certain council members who control the three votes to over rule any quorum and issue they darn well please. When will you take some responsibility and overcome your fear of embarrassing one of the elite and start telling it like it is rather than either sugar coating or completely ignoring council meetings and the many controversial decisions that benefit only the same old groups in Lodi and ignoring the general citizenry, some referred to as "second class" citizens by those who view them only as cheap labor for their lucrative businesses and household needs?

  A large article in today's paper about the supervisors' meeting but no article about the "secret" 7am council meeting yesterday morning in which the issues discussed were water, wastewater, sewer and electric budgets, which I'm assuming also entailed the discussion on how much Lodians rates are going up once again for the costs of these mandatory services. Are these 7am meetings too early for the Sentinel management and staff to attend? Or is this just another issue that concerns all Lodi ratepayers that the Sentinel will keep out of the local news? You cover the Galt council news very comprehensively and seem to disregard the news from your own little town on a regular basis? Why is that? Are you afraid of the certain bullies on the city council?

  And the city of Lodi just raised garbage rates, based on some index from the bay area where, I guess, Waste Management has its highest overhead judging by the outrageous fees for collection and using their Lodi transfer station. Call WM and ask them for a receipt of your trash collection transaction each month and see if you can get one from them? And what services are provided for that fee? Good luck?

  Ho hum, just another 7AM morning "secret" meeting the council so well seems to love knowing very few, if any, of the public are able to attend. Oh well, it is only the water, sewer, waste water and electric budget issues that council doesn't seem to think the public should be involved. And only leading to how much the rates are going to have to go up to meet the rising cost of these services and the wasteful spending habits of this city manager, council, department heads and their staff. You know, the unimportant things that the Lodi residents don't need to be informed about? What a joke.
