"We've got spirit. Yes we do. We've got spirit. How about you?"

If you are filled with Lodi spirit, then the city has a contest for you.

Lodi is asking residents to film no more than 3-minute-long videos using their cell phone, camcorder or Flip video cameras.

Residents can do live action or animation, but the videos must include either a spoken or written reference to the theme, "Lodi spirit."

The city manager's office will review all entries with a panel of other Lodi representatives and they will choose three finalists based on creativity, originality, community spirit and video content.

Mayor Bob Johnson will then select the winning entry.

The winner will be recognized at a Lodi City Council meeting and will receive either tickets to a performance at Hutchins Street Square or a Lodi Lake boat rental or tour.

Those that submit a video will grant the city of Lodi an irrevocable, royalty-free license to copy, distribute, modify, display, perform publicly and otherwise use the video for promotional purposes.

Students can participate, but if they are under 18, they need consent from their parents.

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl.
