Lodi City Council seeks solutions to flap over goose droppings at Lodi Lake

Geese at Lodi Lake have been an ongoing problem for residents and visitors to the park, and Lodi City Councilman Bob Johnson would like the city to look into taking another crack at controlling the problem.

Johnson said at Tuesday’s shirtsleeve session that he counted more than 50 Canada geese during a recent visit to the lake. The fecal matter the geese leave on the beach and in the water is not only creating a huge mess, but a public health hazard as well, he said.
