There’s something lucky about Scott Plines, the 2001 Lodi High graduate who now lives in San Diego.

In 2007, he won $47,777 on a $3 Lotto scratcher.

Now, he’s won big on the “The Price is Right.” In October, he attended a taping of the popular gameshow and won the Showcase Showdown. The episode featuring Plines will air at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28 on NBC.

His winnings from Showcase Showdown — totaling about $25,000 worth of items — include an all-inclusive trip for two people to Naples, Italy, a trip for two to Roswell, New Mexico, a digital camera and video camera and a walk-in brew cave, which is a commercial refrigeration system with glass doors and beer tap dispensers.

He almost won a Harley Davidson motorcycle during the Squeeze Play game, but chose a different answer when the audience booed his first choice.

In the end, it was all fun, and he’s excited about his upcoming trips.

“It was like an out-of-body experience,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

Plines went to “The Price is Right” with his brother and girlfriend on Oct. 3 to celebrate his thirtieth birthday. They wore orange T-shirts that read “In Loving Memory of Bree, 1987-2012,” in honor of his sister, Bree Plines of Lodi, who died in July.

“She always wanted to go on the show,” he said.

Scott Plines grew up in Lodi, but moved to San Diego when he got out of the Navy a year ago. Now, he is studying to be a respiratory therapist at California College San Diego.
