Fourteen juveniles were caught in a truancy sweep by the Lodi Police Department on Wednesday morning, according to School Resource Officer Ryan Holz, who helped coordinate the sweep.

Among those contacted by police were five juveniles who had been smoking marijuana in Henry Glaves Park, and a juvenile male who had shoplifted two bottles of NyQuil to sell at school.

This was the first truancy sweep this year, Holz said, but more may follow in the coming months.
