The Shop Local Committee and the Galt District Chamber of Commerce will hold the fourth annual Galt Eggstravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on Fourth Street between B and E streets in Galt.
This event is free for the entire community and includes an egg hunt for the little ones, games, a pie-eating contest, Easter basket races, an Easter bonnet contest, a car show, a parade, a coloring contest and Easter portraits with a hoppy friend, Mr. Easter Bunny.
The event will kick off with breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Galt Grange Hall, located on the corner of 5th and D streets, followed by an Easter parade at 10 a.m. Parade sign-ups begin at 9 a.m.
The parade will start at the corner of 4th and E streets.
Participants in the basket races will start hopping at 11 a.m., with games to follow.
New this year will be an egg drop, which will begin at noon. Participants can package their raw eggs so they can survive a fall from the top of a local business. After the egg drop, an egg hunt will begin at 1 p.m.
